Sometimes life just seems too hard 
That is when you have to stop and survey
What is it that is ruling you 
Is it your feelings today?
Feelings are the most misleading things 
With which you will ever have to deal 
For I can tell you now from experience 
You cannot live by the way you “feel”
Feelings will trick you in masterful ways 
They have a great built in deceit 
If you ever give in and let them have control
You can count on certain defeat 
God will give you the kind of wisdom 
That you need to distinguish what is real
He will let you know what not to do 
Keeping you from responding to what you “feel”
There are some feelings that are worthwhile 
They won’t torment you while under stress 
They will help you keep your “head on straight”
Protecting your life from one horrible mess 
Trust in God for the “real” thing 
His voice will guide you in His way 
He will teach you to walk in His truth 
Not let your feelings rule your day
