When the world has taken its toll 
It’s Jesus who gives me strength 
The world will do all to cut me short 
To keep me standing God will go to great length
When my friends have no more to give 
They have no clue how to fix me now 
Jesus reminds me only He has the power
If I will listen He will show me how 
When I come to realize my answers
Don’t come from husband, family or job 
I feel ashamed over the time I have wasted 
Time of which evil has managed to rob 
My focus got turned in the wrong direction
Too many questions to God have I thrown
Making me feel that in every phase of my life 
My very relationship to God have I blown
Before I can surrender thinking all is lost 
God’s Holy Spirit comes reminding me again 
God is right where He always was 
I was keeping Him  from having total reign
I am the one who was doing the choosing 
I was allowing things to take their toll
It was me trying to fix my problems myself 
I was losing the peace in my own soul 
God suggests to me very gently 
Give it up! What you need is from Me
Get your focus off those useless things 
Stand in the name of Jesus to be really free
