Body Parts

The Bible compares us to body parts
Some don’t like the comparison I can tell
Maybe it’s because of malfunctions of some of them
For some times body parts don’t work so well
No one likes a runny nose
Or eyes that itch and burn
Or feet that smell or a stiff-neck
That just refuses any way to turn
Sometimes ears fill up with wax
Making it awfully hard to hear
Or our tongue gets us into too much trouble
For the mouth wants to criticize any part that is near
The knees won’t bend for fear of pain
The ankles can’t bear the weight
The arms are too filled with over loads
The hands reach out too late
Each part can blame the other one
Like “dirty hands” spread your germs to my nose
Or shoes too tight made the whole body hurt
And on the story goes
We all have to work together
To make sure each part can survive
For if a part should come up missing
The rest of the body may not feel alive
There is not a part that is not important
Each part has a significant place to be
Each part should do what it is designed for
Keeping the whole body “disease free”
