Thou Shalt Not Live by Emotions Alone

Your emotions can batter, bruise and tear
Until you wonder even if God does care
Trying to make decisions so right
Can bring concern, winding you up tight
Then like an old clock no one will take
You’re wound so tight all the springs break
In every direction the emotions begin to “fly”
No tears will come now, you can’t even cry
How in the world can you ever mend
Bring all the parts together again?
Emotions are not meant, your world, to rule
For emotions will become the ultimate tool
That evil will use to tear you apart
Beating you up and breaking your heart
We need emotions to bring a good balance
But emotions alone can’t produce enough talents
To keep you productive and hold you in check
Wisdom and Sound thinking don’t allow emotions to “wreck”
With God’s help the three work together well
Bringing emotional healing that works without fail
