God has really been teaching me 
Lessons about "Things"
Worldly stuff we try to hold on to 
How easily it can sprout wings 
One moment you hold them in your hands
The next minute they are gone 
You can be totally surrounded by "things"
The next moment you can stand alone
We must be choosy about these "things   
What it is we try to hold as ours
The enemy named evil can control us 
For "things" how their own hidden powers
They can control our behavior 
Especially if someone begins to show a desire 
To have those things we hold so dear 
How to get them, they begin to inquire
"Things" can change our focus 
"Things" can control our total view 
Everybody except ourselves can be blocked out 
Controlling what for others we do 
I don't want to be in the control
Of things that will not forever last 
God help me to let go of temporary stuff 
The "things" that are eternal, hold them fast
