I was sitting tonight thinking 
Just how rough life really could be
About all the things that are going on
It’s not exactly the kind of life that I thought I would see
Some people would get bitter and cry 
Oh God, why is this so 
But through all the thinking tonight
There’s one thing that I know

I have never been so loved
As God is loving me right now
His arms are closed around me 
Though I cannot exactly tell you how
My head is on His shoulder
My heart is in His hand 
He will let me cry all my tears away 
Then on my feet He will let me stand 
He will give me strength and power
To continue in “the fight”
But most of all He’s loving me 
For I am in His presence tonight.

Bad news has been coming today 
It’s causing its own kind of flood
But God is reminding me
It’s all covered by Jesus blood
He is fully aware of it all 
Nothing is coming to Him as a surprise 
I just know He is loving me 
What love there must be in His eyes

He is telling me I have a place 
That I can always come to share
I can feel His breath upon my face
Telling me to cast my care
No trouble is so great as Him
My needs I know HE will meet 
There is no other place so safe as this 
In His arms or at His feet
