Part-Time God??

I would imagine God gets tired
Of the feeling of “just being used”
In this day and time it’s true
Someone would file a lawsuit for abuse.
God is good enough to be mentioned
When someone knows they are in trouble
But, when the storm has passed on by
They run from God on the double
Going their way and living like the world
Until the trouble comes once again
Then they whine they have been left alone
Wondering God, where have you been?
God is not a yo-yo
Bouncing back to you on just any whim
He wants our love and devotion forever
Not just when you have a “desperate need of Him”
If we would stay close to God
Just as He had planned and desired us to do
We wouldn’t worry when a storm is approaching
The relationship would stand just as God meant it to.
