I have learned to stand my ground 
When the evil one tries to bring up issues old 
My anger tries to jump out in defense 
But, the Holy Spirit reminds me to stand bold 
I won’t allow my mind to play the games 
That evil tries to drag me into 
God has encouraged me to make a decision 
And with His grace that is exactly what I will do 
I will not be a yo yo anymore 
Being jerked in any direction & controlled 
God has given me instructions on what to do 
I will allow Him to keep me consoled
My comfort is in the peace of God 
That He freely has given to me 
I will stand firm upon His Word
For victory and peace He has promised I will see 
God’s promises are more solid than rock 
He has proven His Word will endure 
I will be full of courage and boldness 
For He will come through timely and sure 
There’s no more looking back for me 
“Back yonder” has no victory to claim 
I will keep my focus looking ahead 
Marching ever forward in my Savior’s name.
