My life was getting a little miserable 
I began to dwell on my plight 
The places I had begun to see change 
Suddenly were no longer working right
Not one area in my life was exempt 
They were all causing problems for me 
Things that had long been dealt with before 
Were returning with a hardness I didn't want to see 
I didn't understand why so much "affliction"
Was just "suddenly" consuming my day 
It became so mentally exhausting 
My mind couldn't stay focused to pray 
I went before the Lord with my question 
Why is this coming in so many ways? 
I pondered on it seriously for an answer 
Then in my mind appeard the word "Praise"
God said "You were not too thankful"
Or at least you didn't take the time to be 
All I heard coming from your mouth 
was "Why is this happening to me?"
I just want you to say "Thank You"
For some of the problems I caused to cease 
Thankfulness goes a very long way 
to make sure your day is filled with peace 
I love to hear your songs of worship
I love to know  your mouth is filled with praise 
You keep it flowing reaching my ears 
I promise to take care of your days
