A Real Warrior is Always Ready

On those “special days” when you find
Not too many things are bothering your mind
You are experiencing some heavenly peace
From all the previous days that would not cease
Making you wonder if your prayers were heard
On the days you were constantly kneeling with God’s Word
That communion with God has brought a cease-fire
You don’t feel like you’re walking on a tightwire
It’s great to know we are off the frontline
If only temporary, it sure feels fine
This is the time we must put to great use
Storing God’s Word inside our heart to avoid abuse
For the enemy does not know how to rest
He loves to abuse, that’s what he does best
Our defense is in our walk with God
Using His Word to mark the path we trod
His Word will keep us ready for battle
The world of the evil one we can then rattle
It will keep us standing tall and steady
To know our weapons are polished and ready
